Definitely the largest Santacon we’ve had. Still trying to figure out numbers, but we pretty much maxed out every venue we went to.

2015 – Making donations.

Posted December 4th, 2015 by samco

The post you’ve all been waiting for…well not quite yet! Tomorrow’s full route will be posted within the next couple of hours.

But MORE importantly, we want to remind everyone to bring some CASH (or checks) to donate to Family Crisis Services, Cumberland County’s domestic violence resource agency and emergency shelter.

Please come prepared to give $5, $10, or even $20, or whatever you can spare, anything is appreciated. But with the hundreds and hundreds of Santas, elves, snowmen and Christmas trees at tomorrow’s event, we can make a HUGE difference in the lives of people who want to be free from violence.

So be sure to open your hearts and wallets for this very important cause.

There will be specially designated Santas and elves collecting donations throughout the night. But it would be greatly appreciated if you made your donation as early in the night as possible.

To donate online visit the Family Crisis Website here: https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/FamilyCrisisServices/generaldonations.html

Please indicate that it is a Santacon donation!

If you have any questions feel free to write us a message or ask for Santa Brandon or Elf Jenny at tomorrow’s event.

Let’s have a lot of fun and do a lot of good for those of our community in need!

Ho, ho, ho!

11:45 – 1:00 – Brian Boru. Come jam with Rhythm Inc. for some Santa reggae. Only for the die hards.

2014 Schedule forthcoming

Posted November 30th, 2014 by samco

Only six sleeps until Portland Santacon 2014! Some important info for next weeks festivities:

1. The start time has been moved to 5:00 pm. So we will now be at Pat’s Pizza from 5:00-7:00 pm before heading out for the photo in Monument Sq.

2. Portland Santacon will once again be supporting Portland’s Family Crisis Services. Family Crisis Services is the domestic violence resource center for Cumberland County and operates a 16-bed shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence. This year, Family Crisis Services staff will be collecting cash donations, rather than food and toiletries like years past. Cash allows them to meet their greatest needs more effectively. Look for the elf with the donation jar. Please make any donations as early in the night as possible. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

3. If you’re planning to eat out, Pat’s will have a great set-up for ordering food quickly and easily. They’ll have an order window and pick-up station set up where we are on the third floor. The food special will be small one-topping pizzas for $5.
